Welcome! Welcome!
For a New Year's Eve, I couldn't find the original pair of earrings that could go with my Chinese inspired black dress. So I finally made it myself based
Then shortly afterwards, for a friend's wedding, I was missing a necklace this time: I wanted a Breton touch and reworked a long pebble found on the beach to make a pendant.
Then there were these 2 beautiful shells which, combined, could form a beautiful flower, a whole set was born for a future bride.
Compliments on the originality of these jewels were a first signal.
I like to create with my hands, I fell into crochet when I was 8 years old, thanks to my grandmother and knitting thanks to my mother. They taught me the different points they knew (and that I was trying to master...), then my local library and studies of art history and archaeology made me discover so much cultural richness and craft techniques, that my fingers were itching!
But it took a passage through the work hut (this habit of enjoying 3 meals a day...), followed by the economic layoff, to get me into the company's big bath. The support of my husband, for whom nothing is impossible, and the participation of our daughter and son, as testers, almost always volunteers, are also important. And don't forget Lady Margarita who made me come back to the crochet with her little flowers.
Since then, my creations have been created using different yarn techniques, some of which are very old: sewing, crochet, knitting, braiding, knotting, knots, etc., to transform them into 21st century jewellery and fashion accessories. The stitch of a 19th century bookmark can thus be used as a base for a baby headband, as well as a headband for a young woman.
But the inspiration is also found in the materials, sourced or reused, which can compose them: old buttons, scraps of fabric, pieces of porcelain, pearls recovered from a broken necklace and I continue to collect treasures on the beaches!
Thus what was "Old" gives birth to a creation of "Now".
Everything is inspiring!
